We accept all major credit cards and debit cards, Ideal and other forms of payment through Stripe. You can cancel your subscription anytime from your account settings.

How does VAT/tax work on AudioCollabz?

AudioCollabz is the merchant of record and handles all VAT automatically through Stripe Tax. When clients pay for projects, VAT is calculated based on their location, collected from them, and remitted to tax authorities by Stripe. You (the user) receive your net payout without any VAT deductions - you don't handle VAT at all!

Do I need to register for VAT as an artist?

No! Because AudioCollabz is the merchant of record, we handle all VAT obligations. You receive your earnings net of the platform fee, and you don't need to worry about VAT registration, filing returns, or remitting taxes. The platform takes care of everything.

Will VAT be deducted from my earnings?

Accepted Answer

No, VAT is NOT deducted from your earnings. Your client pays the project amount PLUS VAT. For example: if your project is €100, the client pays €100 + €21 VAT = €121 total. You receive €100 minus the platform fee (e.g., 1% = €1), so you get €99. The €21 VAT goes directly to tax authorities via Stripe.

What invoices do clients receive?

Clients automatically receive professional PDF invoices via email when they pay. Invoices include your user name prominently, the project details, amount breakdown, VAT details, and are fully compliant with tax regulations. The platform details appear in the footer for legal compliance.

Can I customize how my name appears on invoices?

Accepted Answer

Yes! You can set your display name, business name (optional), contact email, and custom footer message. This appears prominently on customer invoices while the platform handles VAT compliance in the footer. Check your profile settings or contact support to set this up.

What's the difference between the platform fee and VAT?

Accepted Answer

The platform fee (0-5% depending on your plan) is our service charge for using AudioCollabz. VAT is a government tax collected from customers. Example: €100 project → Client pays €121 (€100 + €21 VAT). You receive €99 (€100 - €1 platform fee). Platform keeps €1, tax authorities get €21.

Do VAT rates differ by country?

Yes! Stripe Tax automatically calculates the correct VAT rate based on the customer's location. EU countries have rates from 17-27%, while non-EU countries typically don't have EU VAT. The system handles all this automatically - you don't need to worry about different rates.

Where can I see VAT information in my dashboard?

Accepted Answer

VAT details appear on customer invoices (PDF emails sent to clients). Your finance dashboard shows a clean view of your earnings: Amount → Platform Fee → Net Payout. You don't see VAT there because it's collected from customers and handled separately by the platform.

Is this system compliant with EU tax regulations?

Yes! AudioCollabz uses Stripe Tax which is fully compliant with EU VAT regulations, including the One-Stop-Shop (OSS) system. Stripe automatically files quarterly returns and remits VAT to the appropriate tax authorities. All invoices include required VAT information and are stored for the legally required period.

What if my client is a business (B2B)?

The system handles both B2C (business to consumer) and B2B (business to business) transactions automatically. If your client is an EU business, they can provide their VAT number. Stripe Tax handles reverse charge mechanics where applicable. The invoice will show all required information for both scenarios.

Can I see historical invoices for my payments?

Yes! All invoices are stored securely and can be accessed. Customers receive their invoices via email when payment completes. For your records as an artist, you receive payout statements showing your net earnings. Contact support if you need copies of specific invoices.

What happens to VAT if a client requests a refund?

If a refund is issued, the VAT is also refunded to the client. Stripe Tax handles the VAT adjustment with tax authorities automatically. You'll see the refund reflected in your earnings, and the platform handles all VAT-related paperwork.
